ZZ66A-541 and ZZ66A-542 designed by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi are vases made in white ceramic with mint green or light blue "steps" on the top.

The collaboration between Aldo Londi at Bitossi Ceramiche and Ettore Sottsass started in the 1950. Thus were created the well-known black and white ceramics, the multicolour “Totems” and the historical production for Memphis. Sottsass had a positive and important influence on the artistic development of the company. Ettore Sottsass opened the way from tradition to design.

Ettore Sottsass

Born in Innsbruck, Austria, in1917, Ettore Sottsass took a degree in Architecture at the Politecnico of Turin in 1939. In 1947 he set up his own studio in Milan. In 1958 he started to work with Olivetti as design consultant. In 1959 he designed the first Italian electronic calculator and typewriter models such as Praxis, Tekne and Valentine.
