Designed in 1960, Paul Anker Hansen’s Owl has a mobile head that rotates to reveal new expressions. Be it wonder, contemplation or curiosity, the Owl echoes our own thoughts and offers a keen insight into what we perceive in every moment of every day.

Traditionally the owl symbolizes mystery and wisdom. The former veterinarian, architect Paul Anker Hansen was so fascinated by these characteristics that he captured it in 1960 in the wood figure Owl. With a head that tilts and turns, Owl is able to display emotions like curiosity and wonder. The big soft eyes made from wengé wood underlines the wisdom of the Owl. ARCHITECTMADE hand-crafts products that will last a lifetime.

We love working with Paul Anker Hansen, and are proud to present the new smoked edition to the Owl family. Together they make a perfect pair. Smoked OWL is designed by Paul Anker Hansen in 1960. Originally, the head of the OWL was attached to the body with an elastic rubber band, so the head were able to tilt. Since then, Paul Anker Hansen and ARCHITECTMADE have worked together on improving OWL,which resulted in a different solution than the rubber band. Now the head and body are attached with a magnet. This gives more flexible movement and enables even more expressions.
