This iconic Marimekko floral print from the original collection launch in 1964 has been produced in many different colors over the years. The crisp cotton percale construction of this duvet cover set provides a comfortable sleeping surface to lull you to bed. The percale yarns are woven in a one-over, one-under pattern, which results in a more durable construction that leaves plenty of room for air to pass in and out. Ensembles are machine washable for easy and soften after each wash.

Unikko (poppy), symbolizing creativity, was born in a time when hardly any floral designs were included in Marimekko’s collections. Maija Isola, however, was fascinated by the theme of flowers and decided to create an entire range of novel floral prints.

The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola did not accept rules or restrictions and designed in protest a complete collection of bold floral patterns: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and recognized around the world.
