A piece of hidden magic in daily life Iittalas new dish series Taika is magical and awakes memories which already were forgotton for a long time. The very decorative design for the -alltogether including 7 parts and two colour versions- service-collection was designed by the design-newcomer Klaus Haapaniemi. Originally the design should decorate the Iittala-Series Aika by Heikki Orvola, but the maker were so impressed by the result, that they decided to create a new dish series. The colourful style of the Taika-Series surprises the ones for who Iittala is the embodiment of traditional, Nordic functionality and plain design. And in fact, Taika is different: When I was little, I loved to watch the little mole of the Czech drawer Zdeněk Miler and many other East-European and Russian animation films. I still like this handmade style of this animations. Also in the design of the Taika-Series this handmade style is sensible. Taika offers a whole new facet to the usual Iittala assortment, but still account for the known Mix & Match-Principle, which stands for the total combination freedom of all Iittala- products. The Taika-dish is made of high quality porcelain and is microwave proof, antifreezing, and oven- and dishwasher capable.

Klaus Haapaniemi

Klaus Haapaniemi – człowiek, o którym głośno w świecie mody, sztuki i aranżacji wnętrz, a nawet branży wydawniczej.
